National Service Scheme (NSS)

The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a Central Sector Scheme of Government of India, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports. It provides opportunity to the student youth of 11th & 12th Class of schools at +2 Board level and student youth of Technical Institution, Graduate & Post Graduate at colleges and University level of India to take part in various government led community service activities & programmes.The sole aim of the NSS is to provide hands on experience to young students in delivering community service.

Motto:

The motto of NSS is ‘NOT Me But You’. This reflects the essence of democratic living and upholds the need for selfless service and appreciation of the other person’s point of view and also to show consideration for fellow human beings.

Types of Activities

There are two types of activities: Regular Activities(120 hours) and Annual Special Camp (120 hours). All the NSS Volunteers who had served NSS for at least 2 years and had performed 240 hours of work under NSS and had attended the special camp are entitled to a certificate from the university under the signature of the Vice-Chancellor and the Programme Coordinator.

Team NSS Bmce

The College has two NSS units under the APJAKTU NSS Cell. The NSS units 538 & 615 of the college, plays a major role in making our students responsible citizens. The aim of NSS is personality development of students through community service.Team NSS BMCE involve in various activities such as blood donation camps, nature conservation, energy conservation, general awareness programmes, medical camps, surveys, skill development programmes and other constructive activities. An activity point of 60 is awarded as per KTU regulations to the volunteers after their successful completion of 240 hours of work and seven day special camp
