MECHANICAL ENGINEERING
The Department of Mechanical Engineering was established in 2010 and it has an intake of 60 students. The department has well qualified, experienced and dedicated faculty and technical staff members. The department has excellent modern infrastructure facility to impart training in the state of art technology.Keeping the demand of the industries and technological developments in mind, the department maintains close interaction with several reputed organizations.
Laboratories:
Mechanical Engineering Department has got the following well-established laboratories with modern equipments and machineries with adequate software packages as per the requirement of University of Kerala and AICTE norms.

* CAD/ CAM Lab
* Engineering Models Lab
* Engineering Workshop (Welding, Fitting, Plumbing, Sheet Metal, Carpentry, and Foundry)
Activities of the Department
* Student's technical meet organized periodically to sharpen the organizational skills and group behaviour of the students and to aid in the exchange of technical knowledge.
* Mechanical Engineering department has got dedicated staff members who are putting maximum efforts to make the students achieve good results. Individual attention is given to each student and every 12 students are provided with one staff member as care taker.
* Class committee meetings with students participation are held regularly to get student’s feedback.
Curriculum Importance
Mechanical is one of the oldest field of Engineering branches. Mechanical Engineering students are required to obtain adequate knowledge to enable them to work professionally in both thermal and mechanical systems areas. This is to ensure a minimum level of competence among graduating Engineers and to inspire confidence in the Engineering profession as a whole. The fundamental subjects of Mechanical Engineering include Engineering mechanics, fluid mechanics & machineries,thermodynamics, thermal engineering, heat & mass transfer, gas dynamics, referigeration & airconditioning, machining processes ,material technology, metrology & Insrumentation, design of machines, dynamics of machinery , strength of materials etc. with related lab works. In addition to the core Mechanical Engineering curriculum, the department offers more specialized programs and classes, such as mechatronics, Energy management, automobile engineering, unconventional machining and management topics. The students are trained to develop their skills in executing independent project works.
